Stockinette stitch and lace are paired in this design to create an elegant wrap that can be worn daily or on special occasions. The solid stockinette stitch offers practical warmth while the lace adds feminine beauty.
The shawl is knit in one piece from the top down by casting on the stitch count for the shoulder width and edge, then using short rows to create the partial-circle shape. Increases are then added for the feather and fan border.
33cm/13″ deep (measured at the deepest point) and 123cm/48″ wide at the top edge (measured straight).
120g of 4ply/fingering weight yarn with approximately 348 metres/380 yards per 100g (87 metres/95 yards per 25g).
The pictured sample was knitted with Rowan ‘Finest’ in Love #065.
