The Eirwen cape was designed to evoke the magnificant drama of snow-capped mountains, icicles, and powder snow. The name is Welsh for ‘snow white’.

The pattern provides both full written instructions and a chart for the lace. It also includes clearly illustrated tutorials for ‘nupps’ (Estonian bobbles) and ‘make one back’ increases.

As the cape is a full circle it fits all sizes. The finished cape is 97cm/38″ in diameter.

822 metres/900 yards of 4ply yarn with significant halo. The pictured sample was knitted with Rowan ‘Angora Haze’ in the Cuddle #520 shade. Suggested alternatives include Rowan ‘Mohair Haze’, Schulana
‘Angora Fashion’, and Shilasdair ‘Luxury 4ply’.

4mm/US 6 and 4.5 mm/US 7 circular needles.
Adjust needle size as necessary to achieve the specified tension.

20 sts and 30 rounds per 10 cm/ 4″ in blocked stocking stitch/stockinette worked on the larger needles.
