This cosy sweater features traditional Scandinavian style patterns.
The sweater is knitted from the bottom up, beginning with a few rounds of ‘purl-when-you-can’. The armholes and front neck are steeked, then the sleeves are knitted from the top down with short row sleevecaps. Increases and decreases in the cowl collar create a ruffled look.
The PDF patterns include clearly illustrated tutorials for working the wrap and turn short row method used for the shoulder and sleevecap shaping.
Uses a dk weight yarn for the main body, and a 4ply yarn for the collar and sleeves. The pictured sample was knitted in Rowan Pure Wool DK, and Rowan Angora haze.
Instructions are provided for 14 sizes, from 32 to 58 inch chests. Tension/gauge is 25 stitches and 27 rounds per 10cm/4″ in blocked stranded pattern. Tension/gauge for the sleeves and collar is 28 stitches and 36 rounds per 10cm/4” after blocking.
