The socks are knitted in the round using stranded technique on 2.5mm/US1½ needles at a tension of 44 rounds and 32 stitches to 10cm/4″. The socks may be knitted on a variety of needle types according to the knitter’s preferred technique for sock knitting, either DPNs, two circulars, or one long circular for magic loop.

The pattern gives full instructions for knitting each element of the sock with all relevant charts included. It also provides clear guidance for adapting the calf for larger sizes and customizing the foot length. Materials required are 100g each of a dark green and a pale grey 4ply (fingering weight) sock yarn and some knitting-in elastic (for the cuffs).
