Suggested needle size is 2.25mm/US 1, or size required to get the correct tension/gauge. You will need one 40cm/16″ and one 60cm/24″ long circular. Tension/gauge is 32 stitches and 48 rounds to 10cm/4″ in unstretched stocking stitch/stockinette.
Yarn requirements are approximately 60– 70g/520 — 620m (569 — 678 yards) of a 2ply /laceweight yarn. The sample pictured was knitted with Lambswool 2ply from Texere Yarns, hand-dyed by my sister using British food colouring! The project also requires 48 size 6/0 seed beads.
Although this original design is inspired by the fiction of J.R.R. Tolkien, the pattern is not official or licensed merchandise and should not be perceived as such.
