Hogwarts Bookscarves

Just a quick post to say that I have decided to store the pattern for Hogwarts Bookscarves here at my website. If you’ve followed a link from Ravelry to find this pattern then you are in the right place! Please take a look at my other designs while you are here (see the ‘patterns’ tab above). When that is done you can find the pattern you really came for here. Do enjoy knitting them, and please share pictures of your finished bookscarves via your Ravelry project pages. :0)

2mm needles are TINY, so I’ve ended up using embroidery floss to knit my friend a Slytherin bookscarf. [It’s also easier to find in the colors I need than the yarn that you use on needles that size — or at least it is for me.]

I’ve never done double knitting before, so I was really excited to do this. And it seems to be working! [I’m only a few rows in, so it’s hard to tell.]

Thank you for having such awesome patterns!

Thanks for designing them, and would you mind, if I modified the patterns to make a paintbrush roll for my “adoptive mom” (a friends family has become amost closer than my birth family is.)?

You are very welcome to adapt the pattern. Many people have already done so to make full-sized scarves and hats! :o )

    Hi Ann,
It is so nice of you to share these bookmarks with us. I took a double knitting class earlier this year…hopefully, I’ll remember how to!! It’s really fun, but you really have to focus. My granddaughter is going to LOVE these because besides being a Harry Potter fan, she LOVES to read.
    Thanks again.

    Hello,

First off, I love these book scarves! I’ve made a few of them and it was a great way to learn double knitting. It also makes a fantastic gift. I was wondering which colour you use as the dominant colour?

    Thanks so much,
    Rin

I love what you have done. Very creative. Great idea and a small enough project that it can be completed successfully in a short amount of time.….
2 questions: If I teach double knitting this year at the guild would I be able to use the pattern (with your permission) for the class?

Bookscarves? is this the same as a book mark or is it a book cover? thank you so much.

Thank you for sharing this pattern. My Grandson’s school mascot is an Eagle…and this looks close to their shape. I hope to make one for all the kids in his class when they graduate 6th grade next year. (It will probably take me that long to make 20+ of them.)

I have looked and looked and cannot find this pattern. Would you be so kind as to either send me the pattern or the correct link for the Harry Potter Hogwarts bookscarf? I am attempting to learn double knitting and this will be my first project.

    Thanking you in advance.

The link in the post downloads the PDF (the blue word ‘here’ is the link). Very few people have problems with this. If you cannot download it please update your Adobe document reader, then try again.

Thank you! This is a wonderful way for me to learn double-knitting, not too big a project, nothing fear-inducing, yet it will make several nieces very happy! Very generous of you, and much appreciated.
